#2059 - HOFBRÄUHAUS Glass Drinking Boot, 2 liter (80 oz)

OUT OF STOCK and our apologies but we will no longer restock. A beautiful authentic Hofbräuhaus drinking boot with the HB Hofbräu München logo. These are huge 2L German Glass Drinking Boots made by expert glassware artisans in Poland. Standing 13 3/8" high and with an 80 oz. capacity filled to the rim (between 6 1/2 and 7 twelve oz. bottles of beer).

For our technically minded customers, you will notice that 2 liters is actually 67.6 oz. Why do we show 2 liters and 80 oz.? It's because in Europe and many other countries, this boot is considered a 2 liter boot, where the volume of the vessel is measured to the beer fill line and they do not count the volume of glass which is consumed, or occupied, by the head of the beer. In the United States, however, glass volumes are measured to the rim, and this is why we included that number in parentheses (80 oz).

Ok, back to describing these impressive drinking boots - they are mouthblown, where the artisan uses 2 molds and then mouthblows the glass into the molds. As a result, they do have a mold line along the sides of the boot which actually makes holding the boot easier (you certainly wouldn't want to drop this one). Some of our customers have given us nice feedback like "DAS BOOT!!!!" from the movie BeerFest and "AWESOME, THANKS". Because they are mouth-blown, there may be some small air bubbles in the glass, which is normal in the crafting of such a large glass drinking vessel - it makes each one unique and actually adds character to your boot. The logo is beautiful HB blue, white, with real gold-plating. Please hand wash only - DO NOT wash in a dishwasher as gold is a precious metal and will come off. Enough said, this is the one - enjoy!
