Official glass of Midtown Underground - the band is pure Detroit Funk. MU began in June 2002 literally underground in the art district of downtown Pontiac MI. MidtownUnderground was originally conceived primarily as an R&B/Jazz trio backing a vocalist. The group quickly picked up additional members along the way at jam sessions and gigs in and around metro Detroit. Now with 6 members, the end result is an array of old school funk, jazz, and R&B intended to shake your bones and put a smile on your face - the prevailing attitude is definitely modern. Their roots-oriented music embraces the dynamic beats of past, present, and future of Detroit funk.
